Licensing FAQ

Plans, upgrades, and activation.

Common questions about Trial access, Pro and Studio upgrades, Personal-mode limits, and Licensing Server activation.

What is included in Personal?
Personal is free forever and includes 35 palette button clicks per day. It does not require license activation.
What is included in the Trial license?
The Trial license is $0 and unlocks unlimited palette button clicks during the 15-day trial period. When the trial expires, Tool Palette returns to the Personal limit of 35 clicks per day unless Pro or Studio is activated.
What counts as a palette button click?
A palette button click is a real Tool Palette execution: launching family placement from a main button, launching placement from a type sub-button, or running an Action button.
What does not count?
Navigation and setup actions do not count. Switching tabs, expanding type lists, opening Settings, opening the Editor, refreshing, failed/missing buttons, and cancelled type pickers are not counted.
What happens when I upgrade to Pro or Studio?
Trial, Pro, and Studio unlock unlimited Tool Palette usage while the license is active. After checkout, activate inside the Revit plugin using the license information from Licensing Server.
What is the difference between Pro and Studio?
Pro is for one user. Studio includes up to 10 seats for teams and includes all Pro features with priority support.
Where do I activate the license?
Activation happens inside the Revit Tool Palette plugin. The website handles secure checkout, while the plugin uses BIMGrove’s private license endpoint to validate Trial, Pro, or Studio access.
Can I manage billing after purchase?
Yes. Use the “Already purchased? Manage billing and license” link to open the Licensing Server customer portal for billing, subscription, and license access.
